The story takes place several years after the events of Devil May Cry 4, Nero having set up his own demon hunting agency based out of a van adorned with a neon “Devil May Cry” sign Dante gave him with support Kryie and from his engineer Nico. But on the day of April 30, Nero encounters a dying demon who ripped his Devil Bringer arm off to acquire the Devil Arm Yamato with intentions of settling things with Dante. A few days later, a man known as “V” comes to the Devil May Cry office to hire Dante, Lady, and Trish to kill a certain demon from their past about to return. The group arrive to Red Grave City on May 16, crossing paths with Nero as they are both after the same figure: A demon named Urizen who planted a demon tree called Qliphoth in the city. They tried to attack Urizen together, but he proves too much as Dante holds Urizen off so V can get Nero to safety while he is defeated as his Rebellion sword breaks, while Urizen turns Lady and Trish into cores for his demons Artemis and Cavaliere Angelo.
A month later on June 15, Nero returns to Red Grave after being outfitted the Devil Breaker prosthetic arm Nico made for him. Nero meets up with V after scuffle with the demon Goliath who reveals the Qliphoth’s fruit would make its consumer king of the Underworld, proceeding to destroy the Qlipoth’s roots before they can rescue Dante. After Nero defeats Artemis to rescue Lady, he kills the root construct Gilgamesh that V accidently released upon defeating the demon parasite Nidhogg. Nero later meets up with V before they travel together to the bottom of Qlipoth before parting ways, the latter learning the location of the Devil Arm Sparda and finding a resting Dante by accident. After Dante is informed of what occurred during his month-long nap, he fights his way to Urizen while freeing Trish from Cavaliere Angelo. As V reveals that Urizen is Vergil after using the Yamato’s power to purge his humanity, and that humanity side becomes a separate physical form who is none other than V himself, Dante figures Rebellion’s power is the opposite as he uses it to absorb the Sparda into himself to acquire his Sin Devil Trigger form to save Nero after he infuriated Urizen by wounding him. Urizen takes his leave once the Qlipoth begins bearing its fruit with Dante regrouping with the others and meeting Nico.

Unfortunately for copyright reasons, we had to mute the music during our playthrough. It’s unfortunate, but we’ve had too many issues with Capcom and copyrighted music before. We completely understand if you prefer not to watch like that, so just wanted to give you guys a heads up!
The game is great and fun and lives up to the hype. Check it out!

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is the sort of “remaster” or “definitive edition” of DMC 4. The graphics are noticeably better here. The Special Edition features Vergil, Trish, and Lady as bonus playable characters so it’s well worth the purchase whether you have or haven’t played the game already.
Nero is a young man who works as a demon hunter for the Order of the Sword that worships the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda as a god. When he goes to the Opera House to see his love interest Kyrie perform for The Order of the Sword’s ceremony, the Order’s high priest Sanctus is murdered by Dante, the son of Sparda who appears suddenly after crashing through a skylight. The Order’s Holy Knights, led by Kyrie’s older brother Credo, try to subdue Dante but he defeats them easily. Promising to return with help, Credo takes Kyrie to safety and leaves Nero to stall Dante. Tapping into his dormant demonic power, Nero overwhelms Dante. Impressed, Dante (before leaving) reveals that the Holy Knights members he killed were actually demons.
As always, we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to create a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!
Devil May Cry 3 opens in Dante’s yet-unnamed shop in an American metropolis. A mysterious man, Arkham, arrives with an invitation from Dante’s brother Vergil in the guise of a demonic attack. After Dante defeats his adversaries, a huge tower erupts from the ground nearby, eclipsing the sprawling city surrounding it. Sensing that Vergil is on the structure, Dante interprets this as a challenge. He begins fighting demons during his journey; once defeated, they become his weapons. Dante is attacked by a woman on a motorcycle who turns out to be Mary, Arkham’s daughter, who wants revenge on her father for causing her mother’s death. Arkham works for Vergil; they plan to take Dante’s half of their mother’s amulet and use its power on the tower to connect the human and demonic worlds.
