British Parliament overwhelmingly rejects Theresa May’s Brexit deal | ABC News

The House of Commons has voted 432-202 to defeat Prime Minister Theresa May’s proposed deal to leave the European Union. After the vote, Mrs May announced Parliament would debate any motion of no confident bought by the official Labour opposition — a motion immediately tabled by Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn.

Theresa May has admitted she was ‘surprised’ by the Commons Speaker, John Bercow, after he allowed MPs to vote on a Brexit amendment. The amendment, put forward by Dominic Grieve, was passed by 11 votes on Wednesday. The PM will now have to table an alternative to her Brexit deal within three days if she loses the key vote
