Remainer MPs vote to seize control of Brexit | LIVE replay

THERESA May today faces fresh pressure to quit – whether or not she manages to force through her Brexit deal.

The PM is being urged to vow she’ll resign in a last-ditch bid to convince Brexiteers they should back her deal in the Commons this week.

And she was warned that if her Brexit strategy collapses, she’ll have no choice but to step down anyway.

The PM is considering holding the third “meaningful vote” on her deal as soon as tomorrow in a high-stakes gamble – if she can win over the DUP.

This morning the Prime Minister summoned Cabinet ministers for a Downing Street summit to lay out the next steps on Brexit – but they didn’t discuss her own future.

During the meeting, ministers clashed over whether they should go for a No Deal Brexit in the event the PM’s deal is defeated for good…

Not enough parliamentary support to hold third Brexit vote, says Theresa May

The government currently lacks the parliamentary support to hold a third vote on its Brexit deal, Theresa May admitted in a statement to the House of Commons. She said the government would oppose an expected vote to allow MPs a series of indicative votes, warning that such a process could produce ‘unnegotiable’ results

Theresa May refuses to rule out No Deal Brexit as she arrives in Brussels

THERESA May is set to ask the EU for a short Brexit delay today as Brits are “fed up” with politicians’ dithering more than 1,000 days after they voted OUT.

In a sign that the PM is confident she can get her deal pushed through on the third time, officials said today she won’t be asking for a long delay to add more wasted time to the process.

A No10 official said: “PM won’t be asking for a long extension.

“There is a case for giving Parliament a bit more time to agree a way forward, but the people of this country have been waiting nearly three years now.

“They are fed up with Parliament’s failure to take a decision and the PM shares their frustration.”

A long extension could have been up to three YEARS – with a break clause if a deal is finally done…

Theresa May confirms that UK will not be able to leave EU with a deal in time

Despite two parliament defeats of her Brexit deal, Prime Minister Theresa May has pressed on with the EU-backed offer, urging MPs to vote for the deal and, in an address to the nation, vowing to “get on with” exiting the union.

“We will now not leave on time with a deal on the 29th of March. This delay is a matter of great personal regret for me,” May said in Downing Street, ruling out any notion of a second Brexit plebiscite.
