May suggests Brexit delay, Labour backs second referendum | DW News

Britain’s prime minister has told members of parliament that they will have a chance to delay Brexit if they defeat her deal again.
Theresa May’s change of heart came after several senior ministers threatened to resign unless she allowed MPs to extend the March deadline, to avoid the UK crashing out of the EU without a withdrawal agreement. The British parliament is due to hold its next vote on May’s deal on 12 March. The prime minister’s announcement follows word from the opposition Labour Party on Monday that it would support calls for a second referendum if it doesn’t get the deal it wants.

Theresa May offers vote on delaying Brexit if her plan is rejected | ITV News

Prime Minister Theresa May has told the House of Commons if her Brexit deal is rejected, MPs will be offered two separate votes by March 13 on whether the UK leaves with no-deal or delays Brexit beyond March 29.

Speaking in the House of Commons she made three promises to MPs.

– A meaningful vote on her deal by March 12
– If the deal fails, MPs will be able to vote on whether to support a no-deal
– If MPs vote against no-deal, then MPs can vote on March 14 to extend Article 50.

As Mrs May promised to keep her “commitments” the Commons roared with laughter.

Theresa May Fools Them All Again

So Jeremy Corbyn made a second referendum look more likely yesterday. It was also looking like Theresa May was going to lose control over Brexit tomorrow. So today she acted to counter them all. But has she fooled enough MPs by her statements to stop them opposing her?
